

Mary “Sue” (Wilson) Beavers, of Cook Springs, Alabama was born on June 15, 1930. She passed from life here on earth to her new home in heaven on March 27, 2026. She had many titles during her life—Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mom, Marmaw Sue, Mama, Mawmaw, Aunt Sue, and Friend.She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Robert H.Beavers, her son, Larry Dale Beavers, two grandsons, Adam Beavers and Taylor Smith. Mrs. Beavers is survived by her sons, Wayne Beavers (Violet), John Beavers (Tammy), daughter Denise Smith (Greg), and daughter in law
Dianna Beavers. During her 95 years she was blessed with 10
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Cook Springs Baptist Church and had also enjoyed years at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Wherever she attended church she was
active in teaching Sunday School, VBS and even long ago GAs.
Camping was always a favorite way to spend time with family and friends. She and her husband worked many years in the Campers On Mission organization going on mission trips and church building projects. They also served as campground hosts at parks in Alabama. Many memories and friends were made on their camping adventures. Mrs. Beavers enjoyed a variety of hobbies including jewelry making and crocheting. She gifted many people with framed crocheted names to honor weddings and even new babies. She also crocheted bookmarks in the shape of the cross with a special message to share her faith. A handmade gift to treasure. She was a collector of anything with redbirds and they were found throughout her house. She loved family gatherings and made a great chocolate cake for special occasions and chocolate boiled cookies whenever she wanted something sweet. Services will be held at Cook Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Visitation at 10:00 and the celebration of her life to follow at 11:00. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Flowers were one of her favorite things and while they are welcomed, donations can also be made in her memory to Cook Springs Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Alabama Campers On Mission.
