

Pauline Joyce Rodgers Street, 96 years old of Leeds (Moody), Alabama passed away on February 25, 2025 after a wonderful life well lived. Pauline was born on October 6, 1928 in Birmingham, the daughter of Milton and Mattie Crawford Rodgers of Edgewater, Alabama.
She graduated from Minor High School and on June 12, 1948 she married Earl Street of Wylam, Alabama. They enjoyed 52 happy years before his death on June 5, 2000. In 1961, they moved to Leeds, Alabama where they became actively involved in the community, helping to establish Leeds Outreach and the Christmas for Children drive which bears his name. They were leaders in organizations like Leeds Band Boosters, Leeds Quarterback Club, Leeds Civitans. Pauline supported Earl in his role as Leeds City Councilman and on the Birmingham Regional Planning Commission.
They joined, loved, and served in Valley View Baptist Church (now Leeds Valley Church) in 1961, where she remained a faithful member till her death. She was a volunteer youth director for many years and impacted the lives of many students. She traveled with the youth choir and in later years, she turned that ministry into one of directing and planning Senior Adult activities for the Son-Shiners group.
She started her career with the home office of Loveman's Department Stores, then worked for years at BellSouth. She also worked for many years with General Motors and finally retired in 1991 from United Chair in Leeds.
Pauline loved her Lord, her church, her friends, cooking, dancing, and entertaining, but most of all, she loved her family.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Earl Street, parents Milton and Mattie Rodgers, brothers Milton Rodgers and Ira Rodgers, and son George Street.
She is survived by daughter Debbie Street Childers and much-loved son-in-law Tim Childers. Grandchildren Amy Griffith (Sam), Clay Childers (Candi), Anna Pawlik (Kevin), Georgia McGhee (Chris). Great grandchildren Mattie Greckel (Nolan), Samuel Griffith (Ashley), Mallory Wooley (Thomas), Tucker Griffith, Macy Griffith, Cash Childers, Carolina Childers, Tripp Pawlik, Miller Grace Pawlik, Thomas Pawlik, Reid McGhee, Dawson McGhee, and one great-great grandson Griff Greckel.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home, 1750 Ashville Road Leeds, Alabama. Funeral service at the funeral home to follow with Reverends Tim Childers and Nate Farrow officiating. Grandsons and great grandsons will be pallbearers. Graveside service is immediately following the funeral at Forest Crest Cemetery, 5730 US 78-East, Irondale, Alabama.
