Gordon Wayne Williamson of Little Rock, Arkansas, born January 15, 1941, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2013. He graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and retired as the Assistant Treasurer of Murphy Oil Corporation in El Dorado after 43 years of service.
He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. His father, Douglas Williamson, precedes him in death.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mavis Cooley Williamson of Little Rock, Arkansas; his mother, Tressie Mae Williamson, of Simpson, Louisana; son, Kevin Williamson and wife, Marissa of Sherwood, Arkansas; son, Brent Williamson and wife Brooke of Benton, Arkansas; and granddaughters, Whitney Williamson and Breanna Williamson. He is also survived by three step-granddaughters, Kallie Ausbrooks, Claire Ausbrooks, and Camryn Ausbrooks.
He is further survived by his brother Randy Williamson of Simpson, Louisiana; his uncle, Earl Mundy of Simpson, Louisiana; his cousins, Robert Earl Turner and wife, Karen of DeRidder, Louisiana, and Peggy Metero and husband, Tony of Kissimmee, Florida.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 2 PM in the Church of God, Simpson, Louisiana with Dr. Glen Cooley officiating. Burial will be at the Welcome Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald Cooley, Darrell Cooley, Harold Cooley, Gary Cooley, Benny Cooley, Bob Driggers, and Butch Smith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville, Louisiana.
