Howard R. Hunt passed away from his earthly shell on January 31, 2011 in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was proud to be a lifelong resident of Leesville but prouder still of his 31 years with the Leesville School District and being able to retire from bus #137.
Howard graduated from Leesville High School in 1967 and was a member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church where he was a 3rd and 4th degree Knight. Howard also served as the Treasurer and was chosen King of the Mardi Gras Court in 2002.
In his 61 years he was the owner of Howard's Corner Grocery, Hunt's Taxi Service and Hunt Estates, after retirement he began a new career at Fort Polk with the Cubic Corporation and took on the challenge of raising cattle in his spare time.
All those that came in contact with Howard knew of his love for God; Family; Friends and Football: New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers were the only teams that mattered!
Howard was preceded in death by his First Wife, Cathy C Hunt; Parents, William Ottis and Levy Funderburk Hunt; and a Sister, Linda Hunt Selsor.
Survivors are his Beloved Wife of 12 years, Connie Hodges Hunt of Leesville, LA; Four Sons: Phillip Hunt and wife Nancy of Leesville, Michael Dorough and wife Mindy of Denham Springs, LA; Robert Edmond Hunt of Leesville, Howard Ottis Hunt and wife Amy of New Orleans, LA; One Daughter, Samantha Hunt Laub of Korea; One Brother, John Fitzgerald Hunt and wife Pam of Centre, AL; Nephew, Jon Craig Hunt of Centre, AL; Ten Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren.
