Donald LeRoy Joslyn was born on July 12, 1921 in Syracuse, New York, to William and Marguerite Joslyn and passed away on February 18, 2013.
For nine years prior to his retirement, Donald owned a Western Auto Store in Escondido, California. Before that, he worked as an office manager for several businesses in the San Diego area, and in Upstate New York. He also owned and operated a feed mill in the Finger Lake region of New York State before he moved his family to San Diego in 1958.
After his retirement, Don served several years as a volunteer with the La Mesa Police Department’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
Donald leaves behind his wife of nearly 70 years, Ruby; sons Allan, Charles and Van; daughters Luane, Barbara, and Gail; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Don is also survived by a brother Carl, and two sisters, Betty and Eleanor, who live in the Eastern United States.
No local services will take place. Donald will be buried in the family plot in the town of Venice, New York.
Donald was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
