Ken passed peacefully from this life on the morning of March 8th after a decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Ken was born in Elgin, MN, but has been a San Diegan since 1970 where he met and married his loving wife Mary Ellen Holmes, who preceded him in death. In 1993 Ken retired from Rohr Industries after 23 years of service as a Material Expediter Team Lead.
Ken was a kind, honest, and straight forward man. He judged people by their character and treated everyone fairly. Although Ken wasn’t very expressive, he had a huge heart and would open his doors to almost anyone in need. After having met Ken and spending some time with him, you quickly realized that he was just a genuinely nice guy. Ken was a very simple man and you could always find him sitting in his recliner watching Polka or Nascar. He had a great sense of humor and liked to joke around with those he knew. Although his passing has created a void in our lives, as long as we remember him, he will live forever in our hearts.
Ken is survived by: one Sister-in-law, Kay Brueske; one niece, Patricia Kay (Ken); three nephews: Gary, Wayne, and Paul; devoted Caregiver and Friend Thomas Page (Kathy); Friend(s) Charlette Strong Williams (Rodney), Terry Levlon, Tim Kennedy; Special Friend Susan Leard and a host of other friends and acquaintances.
Final arrangements entrusted to the care of Ashes and Oceans and remains to be scattered at Sea off the coast of San Diego, California on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at 10:00am.
