Leona Lucia Walsh

WALSH, Leona L.(Butori) of Lemon Grove, CA and Meaderville, Butte, MT died on May 1, 2015. She was born on October 12, 1921 to Leon P. and Frances M. (Grosso) Butori. Her family owned the Aro Cafe in Meaderville. Leona married Dennis in 1946. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. They moved to Lemon Grove, CA in 1953. She was member of St. John of the Cross Roman Catholic Church for 60 years and a member of he Catholic Daughters. Dennis and her brother, Neil Butori, predeceased her.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Dr.James) Collins, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, her sons, Robert (Julie) Walsh, of Lago Vista,TX, her son, Thomas Walsh of Lemon Grove, CA, her grandson Philip (Janna) Walsh, of Lago Vista, TX, her great-grandson, Caden Walsh of Lago Vista, TX, her brother, Dr, Eugene F. Butori, of Portland, OR, her goddaughter, Danette Cody of Santee, CA and her longtime and loyal friend, Mary Price of Lemon Grove, CA.

Leona's family wishes to thank those caregivers who took such wonderful care of her: Kathy Gutierrez, the Staff of Rose Garden Guest House, especially, Melanie, Avie, Dena and Lonna and the Staff at Chaparral Rose Guest House, especially Marlene. They were kind and showed our mother great compassion.

Her son, Tom, was her constant helper, guardian and supporter. He is a loving son who watched over all of her needs in the last years of her life. Danette Cody and Mary Price visited her every week without fail and brought laughter and pleasure to her life.
