Carroll Jay Philyaw

Carroll Jay Philyaw, age 75, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Carroll was born January 28, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late Walter Philyaw and the late Rosalie Crump Winebarger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Laney and two brothers, Joe and Clyde Philyaw.

Carroll was a loving husband, father and grandfather, He was dedicated to his family. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He retired from Harper Furniture after 28 years of faithful service. He enjoyed camping, fishing and just spending time with his family. Carroll also loved to watch his son and grandsons play sports. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Patricia Philyaw of the home, his children, Tracey Sadlowski and husband John of Granite Falls, Alan Philyaw and wife Julie of Lenoir, Jennifer Philyaw and husband Donald of Lenoir, grandchildren, Mason Greene, Jon-Mykal Chester, Jozy Philyaw, Matthew Greene, Auston Philyaw, Carey Philyaw, Dakota Haskett and Jessi Williams.

Also surviving are numerous great grandchildren and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev Dewey Bristol officiating.
