Mrs. Elizabeth Marie Howell Wilcox, 87 of Hudson, left her earthly home and entered her Heavenly home on February 7, 2021. She was born in Caldwell County on February 4, 1934, to the late Emanuel Howell and Maggie Robinson Howell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years: Jack D. Wilcox, a son: J. David Wilcox, a daughter: Karen Wilcox Pennell, 2 brothers: James and Gene Howell, a sister: Jessie Howell Bolick, whom she talked with daily, and a sister-in-law: Edith Howell.
Mrs. Wilcox was a dedicated member of One Community Church and attended regularly until her health would no longer allow her to. She loved and trusted her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Daily, she sat at her table to read the bible and pray. She dearly loved and prayed for her family, children, grandchildren, church family and others.
Those left to cherish her memory, include her daughters: Lynn Rothrock and husband John of Hudson, Elaine Booth and husband Tommy of Hudson, brothers: Jay Howell and wife Marnelle of Lenoir, Bill Howell of Lenoir, her grandchildren: Billy Berry and wife Jessica, Shawn Day and wife Amber, Nikki Greer and husband Rev. Jeremy Greer, Joshua Goforth and wife Jennifer, great grandchildren: Mason Day, Caleb Berry, Cameron Day, Gracie Day, Micah Greer, Paige Goforth, Elijah Goforth, Kira Berry, great-great grandchildren: Cali and Tatum Day and step grandchildren: Bryson Greer and Lily Mathis.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at One Community Church, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bill Bentley and Rev. Tommy Booth officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be: Billy Berry, Joshua Goforth, Micah Greer, Caleb Berry, Cameron Day and Shawn Day. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.
