She was born in Caldwell County, on October 17, 1959 to the late J.V. Gilbert and late Jessie Townsend Gilbert. Ms. Gilbert was preceded in death by her uncle, Jimmy Cox and her aunt, Dessie Cox. She loved music and talking to people, she never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Annie Carlton of Ferguson, Debra Hamby and husband Tommy, both of Ferguson; brothers, Johnny Gilbert and wife Linda, Jerry Gilbert and wife Audrey, and Lee Roy Gilbert and wife Barbara, all of Ferguson; nephews, Robert Carlton, Justin Gilbert, Jacob Gilbert; and niece, Jessica Pennell.
A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Gilbert will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Bentley and Pastor Chris Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Full Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Justin Gilbert, Jacob Gilbert, Leonard Townsend, Timmy Townsend, Joshua Carlton, and Gabriel Carlton.
