Elsie Boyd Vaught

Mrs. Vaught was born in Buncombe County to the late Daryl Boyd and Mary Lytle Boyd. She worked as a certified nursing assistant and was a member of the Life of God Christian Outreach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Vaught; a brother Arnold Boyd and a sister Dorothy Boyd.

Survivors include her son Verne Vaught and wife Connie of Lenoir; a daughter Reginna Vaught of Morganton; brothers, Hubert Boyd of Swannanoa, Jackie Boyd of Asheville, Alvin Boyd and Calvin Boyd of Swannanoa; sisters, Roberta Sullivan and Billie Rustin of Asheville and Bonnie Lawrence and Sandra Grant of Black Mountain. She also leaves behind three grandchildren to cherish her memory Darrian, Tyrique and Alycia Vaught, a step granddaughter Kailyn Reid, and step great grandchild Javian Banner.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Pastor Roger Horton and Pastor Juanita Melton officiating. The family will receive friends open hours at the home at 1345 Old North Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.
