Frances M. Carpenter

Frances Miller Carpenter, 73, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson.

Ms. Carpenter was born in Caldwell County to the late Earl B. Miller and Cora Lee Coffey Miller. She was retired from the furniture industry and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Bobby and Nolan Miller, and a sister Jean Carpenter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Floyd Larry Carpenter Jr, MSGT, USAF, Retired of Anderson, SC, and Roger Dale Carpenter of Broomfield, Colorado; James W. Cline, of the home and his children, Charlie Cline and Kim Cline Yarbrough; brothers, Thomas E. Miller and wife Reba of Hudson, and Basil C. Miller and wife Karen of Southport, NC; sisters, Margaret M. Evans of Blacksburg, SC, and Mary M. Spicer of Lenoir; brother-in-law John D. Carpenter of Baton, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Ashley Breanne Carpenter and Shane Ryan Carpenter, both of Springlake, NC; two great grandchildren, Mariah Lynn Flores and Naomi Jocelyn Flores.

A funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Edd Warren and Reverend Marvin Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Stubblebine, TJ Miller, Tommy Miller, David Evans, Donald Evans and Jeremy Carpenter. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Carpenter.
