Frankie Phillips Kidd, age 85, of Lenoir, North Carolina strolled through the gates of Heaven while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Frankie was born November 19, 1939 in Watauga County to the late Leonard Stewart and Mary Nell Phillips.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Columbus Kidd and a son, James Wilson Kidd.
Frankie was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lenoir. Frankie enjoyed planting flowers and reading her bible. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her dog, Ted.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Roger Kidd and Kathy Darnell of Lenoir, five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and one brother, DF Phillips of Hudson.
A funeral service will be held to honor Frankie at Liberty Baptist Church on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dewey Bristol Officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Lee, James Lee, Jeff Chaffin, Gavyn Chaffin, Brenton Kimberlin and Allen Edwards.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the church.
The family wishes to express thanks to AMOREM Hospice for the care and compassion shown to their family during this difficult time. They also wish to thank the special caregivers who cared for Frankie at home, her great granddaughter, Kayla Chaffin (Oakleigh and Willow), granddaughter Lisa Lee and special family friend, Jessica Edwards.
