Gene F. Watson

Elder Watson was born on November 25, 1927 in Watauga County to the late Theodore Roosevelt Watson and Jenny Hartley Watson.

Mr. Watson previously served as an Elder at Hollow Springs Primitive Baptist Church and at Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church in Lenoir.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Pansy Lura Watson and a daughter Lisa Bush.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son; Randy Watson and wife Cathy, daughters; Revonda Swanson and husband Carson, Rebecca White and husband Al, grandchildren; Melinda Summerlin and husband Randy, Jason Swanson and Bailey Overman and husband Robert, great grandchildren; Emilee Summerlin, Dalton Summerlin and Reagan Overman and brother Jimmy Watson.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Hollow Springs Primitive Baptist Church at 11:00 am with Elder John Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Shaire Center Nursing Center in Lenoir for their support and care.
