He was born on April 17, 1941 to the late Sammy and Sara Watts Skinner in Lee County, South Carolina. Mr. Skinner was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a dedicated employee of Campbell’s Soup for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Skinner and one sister, Betty Kelley.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Esther B. Skinner; daughters, Juliana Tripician and husband Kyle of Lenoir, Melissa Turner and husband Dale of Fulton, Tennessee, Wendy Knox and husband David of Shelby, North Carolina, and Amanda Moore of Sumter, South Carolina; sisters, Cathy Kelehear of Bishopsville, South Carolina, Martha McDonald of Olney, Texas, and Myra Jean Moree of Hartsville, South Carolina; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service honoring the life of Mr. Skinner will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Military honors will be performed by the North Carolina National Guard.
