

Mr. Watson was born in Watauga County to the late Herman and Dollie Watson In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Letty Wheeler Watson, a son, Dennis Clay Watson, a grandson, Eddie Albert Goble II, a great grandson, Seth Allen Watson, two brothers, Hugh Watson, John Watson and a sister, Margaret Watson Chandler.
Mr. Watson was a member of Buffalo Cove Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Watson enjoyed time with his grandchildren, liked to watch NASCAR and, when he was young, he played baseball and was very good at it.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Allen Grady Watson and wife Cindy of Alexis, NC, a daughter, Phyllis Teresa Quinn and husband David of Magnolia, NC, brothers, Jerry Watson and wife Connie, Scott Watson and wife Billie Sue, Riley Watson and wife Josie, and Doug Watson and one sister. Also left to cherish his memory are seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:oo am at Buffalo Cove Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Helton officiating. Burial will follow the service in Buffalo Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at Buffalo Cove Baptist Church.
The family of Grady Watson would like to thank the staff at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir for the love, care and support shown to the family during this time.
