Helen Chloe Sanders Hendrix, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, 10, 2019 at 5:03pm with her daughter, Shanna, by her side. She leaves a legacy of love and beautiful memories for her family and friends to cherish.
My mother shared with me about a week before her death that she had a good, long life and had been married to a wonderful man. She had always wanted four children and she had four children. She said her life was blessed and she was ready to leave this earth and see her Heavenly Father.
Helen is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Hugh Hendrix, her parents Tempy Alzena Ellison and Ivey Clay Sanders, her sisters Ruth Tester and Eileen Ellison and her brothers Robert, David, Ivey Jr., Paul , Roger, Jerry and Bill Sanders.
Helen was a loving mother to her first child, Sharon Lee Hendrix Weaver and her husband Dale of Hudson, NC and the devoted grandmother of Bradley Weaver and Anissa Weaver Enamait and husband John and proud great-grandmother of their two daughters Arielle Elizabeth and Aleaha Snow Enamait.
Helen was a loving mother to her second child, Vickie Elaine Hendrix McLoud of Hudson, NC and a devoted grandmother to Todd Franklin and Samuel Hugh McLoud.
Helen was a loving mother to her third child, Timothy Hugh Hendrix of Hudson, NC and a devoted grandmother to Amanda Renae Hendrix and proud great-grandmother of Kyleigh Grace Hendrix.
Helen was a loving mother to her fourth child, Shanna Lynne Hendrix and a devoted grandmother to Zachary David Kirby.
Helen also leaves behind her two sisters, Hazel Mumford and Marlene Tunstall, one brother Jacob Sanders and his wife Patty, who Helen considered a sister and best friend. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many brothers and sisters in Christ.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Pendry’s Funeral Home in Lenoir, NC. The funeral service will follow in Pendry’s Chapel at 2:00pm with Helen’s dear nephew Douglas Sanders officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Lenoir, NC, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Hugh.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Sanders, Josh Sanders, Douglas Sanders, Todd McLoud, Sam McLoud and Bradley Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Sanders, Dale Weaver and Zachary Kirby.
