Iva Dean Pitts, age 94, of Lenoir passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Shaire Center. Iva Dean was born in Caldwell County on April 3, 1930, to the late Foster Ray and Hazel Celeste Benfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Theodore Pitts and her sister Mary Louise Lewis.
Left to cherish her memory are her nephew Raymond Lewis (Kenlaugh), niece Mary Lewis (Robin), several great-nieces and great-nephews, many other beloved extended family, and Michelle Wood and Charity Dillard, who she cherished like family.
A funeral service will be held 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor David Doster. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Iva Dean's memory may be made to Amorem Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
