Jewel Faye Winebarger Whittington

Jewel Faye Winebarger Whittington, 77, of Hudson, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 1, 2016 at her home. Born on November 23, 1938 in Watauga County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Winebarger and Emma Wilson Winebarger.

Mrs. Whittington was a lifelong member of Hibriten Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Grover Cleveland and Emma Wilson Winebarger, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Darrell Edward Whittington; six brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Renee Short and her husband, Rendell of Hudson; Gary Winebarger and his wife, Pam; Jeff Whittington and his wife Tammy of Lenoir; and Greg Whittington of Lenoir; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Hibriten Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Reverend Larry Winebarger and the Reverend Doug Cox officiating.

Graveside Services will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
