He was born August 11, 1933 in Nash County to the late Winda Privette and Annie Vester.
Jimmy served as a Police Officer in Raleigh, worked for the State Department, was as an associate Pastor and served as a Minister. During his early life he was a member of the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he is preceeded in death by his siblings; Ellis Privette, Joyce Dean, Peggy Gentry and Stuart Privette.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Irene Privette, children; Gregory Keith Privette and wife Arlene, Barry Stevens Privette, Joanne Privette, Amy Joyce Medina and husband Tracy, brother; Neul Privette, grandchildren; Julie Elizabeth Privette, Jennifer Leigh Privette, Jonathan Keith Privette, Kristie Dawn Morris, Christopher James Privette, Samara Marie Wacksman, Adera Brooks Brown, great grandchildren; Jude William McCloud, Madison Grace Morris and Mason Garrett Morris.
A funeral service will be held for Rev. Privette and Mrs. Privette at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, 1448 Cajah Mountain Road, at 10:00 am on Friday, September 14, 2018 with Rev. Ron Burgette officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am prior to the service. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made in Jimmy’s honor to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
