Joann Rebecca Jenkins

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Jenkins and her sweet canine companion Ginger.

Left to cherish Joann's memory are her daughters Christina Long (husband Jack), Stephanie Godfrey (husband Stephen), and Brittany Michelle Philyaw; her son-in-law Colt Philyaw; her brothers Mike Powell (wife Cindy) and Richard Powell (wife Ashley); her sisters Teresa Mikeal (husband David), Jane Garrett, and Kay Sparks (husband Jerry); her many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Joann was extremely devoted in her faith. She would constantly read her Bible and was a faithful Christian. She was a humble, sweet soul, with a huge heart. Her three daughters were the light of her life. Joann was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Crisp officiating.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Powell, Jeremy Powell, Jerry Sparks, David Mikeal, RC Waters, and Colt Philyaw.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Living Hope Church, 1890 Connelly Springs Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
