Left to cherish John's memory are his loving wife of 20 years Betty Cottrell, his son John Cottrell (wife Margo), his daughter Debbie Cottrell, his three grandchildren Kasey, Anthony and Grace, and many other beloved friends.
John was an avid horseman, an accomplished rodeo rider, and a long-haul trucker. He attended Church Street Baptist Church in Rhodhiss.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, 522 Wilkesboro Blvd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
