Mrs. Dougie Allen Dingler of Hudson passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at her residence as her loving children and two dogs surrounded her. Mrs. Dingler was born September 13, 1937 in Caldwell County to the late John Frazier Allen and Willie Elizabeth Martin Allen
In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, James “Jimmy” Dingler, a daughter, Ginny Edwards and two sisters, Peggy Hicks and Betty Burnet, preceded her in death.
Dougie grew up in Lenoir, NC and graduated from Lenoir High School. She attended Secretarial School for a year before marrying the love of her life in 1956. She devoted the rest of her life taking care of her family, dogs and their home. She was a long time member of Hudson First Baptist Church. She loved serving in the nursery for many years.
Dougie enjoyed flower gardening, winning many community awards over the years. She shared her husband, Jimmy's, love of dancing, The Shag, and entertaining and hosting fun gatherings and special events for friends and family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Brad Dingler and wife Beth of Durham, daughter, Jeanne Allen Heineman and husband John of Hickory, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two dogs and five grand dogs. She treasured them all dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hudson First Baptist Church on Sunday, November 6 at 3:00 pm with Rev. R. Mack Jarvis III officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Hudson First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Foundation or Pet Peace of Mind, a non-profit organization helping to keep hospice patients and their pets together as long as possible during their end-of-life journey.
