In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Land, her brother Joseph Goble, and her nephew Thomas Land, Jr.
Left to cherish Mary Nell's memory are her nephew Robert Land (wife Debra) of Hudson, the loving staff of J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center, and her special friend Sherri Barnwell.
Mary Nell had a big smile and a big voice that greeted everyone. She dearly loved her caregivers and fellow residents at J. Iverson Riddle. She greatly enjoy belonging to the Red Hat Society and attending many activities, especially with her beloved late sister Dot.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, officiated by Pastor Tommy Bridges.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center.
