Myrtle Elizabeth Kirby Younce

Mrs. Younce was born in Caldwell County, NC to the late Early Kirby and Dora Bryant Kirby Knight. She was preceded in death by her parents and also her husband Jay Younce; one son, Kenneth Younce; a brother Edward Coleman Kirby; two sisters, Aletha Waters and Georgie Younce. Mrs. Younce was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church. During her high school years she enjoyed participating on the basketball team and tennis team.

Survivors include her sons, Sam Younce and wife Lynn of Hickory, Edward Younce and wife Sarah of Lenoir, Joseph Younce and wife Rebecca of Lenoir; daughters, Marlene Bolick and husband Troy of Lenoir, Dorothy Winkler and husband Larry of Hickory, Dean Vines and husband Cecil of Lenoir, Sandra Scudder of Virginia, and Carolyn Bentley and husband Roger of Lenoir; sisters, Barbara Whisnant of Lenoir, and Mavis Allred of Chapel Hill; also 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1st from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. prior to the service.

Serving as Pallbearers will be William Hoyle, Robert Lee Hoyle, Micheal Vines, Brian Younce, Jeffery Younce, Keith Messer, Scott Younce and Barry Younce.
