Opal Lucille Pope Bryant

Opal Lucille Pope Bryant, 87, of Lenoir, NC, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.

Mrs. Bryant was born, February 18, 1923, in Caldwell County to the late John B. and Ella Mae Hendrix Pope. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Bryant; four brothers, Kenneth, Bernice, Thalbert, and Dermont Pope; two sisters, Beatrice Reynolds and Nell Smith; one son-in-law, Colon Wise.

Mrs. Bryant was a member of the Abington Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Alan Bryant and wife, Donna of Patterson, NC; two daughters, Brenda Wise of Lenoir, NC, and Mary Nell Wise and husband, Walter, of Valdese, NC; two sisters Ruth Hollar of Hudson, NC, and Shirley Crisp of Lenoir, NC; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held for Mrs. Bryant, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11:00 am, at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Raymond Coffey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Crisp, Floyd Curtis, Dennis Pope, Steve Pope, Ricky Pope and Troy Dillard.
