Mrs. Pansy Howell Scruggs, 70, of Granite Falls – Garden City, SC entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 while at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative
Care in Hudson.
Mrs. Scruggs was born October 1, 1950 in Caldwell County to the late Marshall Howell and Cleo Osborne Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Blickley.
Pansy was an active member of Union Grove Baptist Church, and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at Hibriten High School and South Caldwell High School where she served as a bookkeeper for many years and drove a school bus. Pansy had a heart for children and touched many lives during her time in the schools. She will be remembered as a devoted friend and prayer warrior. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 51 years, Tony Scruggs of the home, her sons, Michael Scruggs and wife Tamara of Hudson, Major Andrew Scruggs and wife Elizabeth of Southern Pines, brothers, Walter Howell of Lenoir, Jerry Howell of Charlotte, Herbert Howell of Lenoir, sisters, Polly Edmiston of Lenoir, Phyllis Woods of Lenoir, Faye Storie of Lenoir and Brenda Yates of Wilkesboro.
Also left to cherish her memory are her beloved grandchildren, Gaven Scruggs, Kendal Murphy, Sylas Scruggs, Mylee Scruggs, Sydney Scruggs, Maddy Murphy,Wyatt Scruggs and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Craven, Rev. Jeff Lambert and Rev. Frank Denning officiating.
