Mrs. Peggy Lucille Johnson

Mrs. Johnson was born to the late James and Ollie Pate. She was currently a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church and had been a member of Lakeview Baptist and had been a member of Whitnel First Baptist Church for 57 years. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Junior Johnson; sister, Marie Gilbert; and brother, Jean Pate.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lou Ann Burgett and husband Ron of Lenoir; grandson, Jared Burgett and wife Ally of Lenoir; brothers, James Pate and wife Eleanor of Lenoir, Jack Pate and wife Phyllis of Fayetteville, and Grady Pate and wife Regina of Maiden; sisters, Myrtle Gilchrist of Columbia, South Carolina, Margaret Berry and husband Ken of Maiden, Leona Lynch of Newton-Conover, and Marsha Simpson of Newton-Conover; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pate of Newton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Whitnel First Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Burgett and Reverend Stuart White officiating. Interment took place in the Whitnel First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Johnson, Tony Harris, Josh Austin, Daren Smart, David Smart and Trevor Durmire. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ase Chandler, Lane Maltba, Gerald Hawkins, Lester Perry and Shober Setzer.
