Born June 28, 1961 in Caldwell County, he was the son of Bobby Eugene Killian and Opal Lee Greer, both of Lenoir.
Mr. Killian had worked for the City of Lenoir for several years where he jokingly called himself a “hockeyologist”. He was a loving father, companion to Lora Pennell, friend and son, who called his “momma” nearly every day. He played the guitar, sang varieties of music unlike any other, and enjoyed talking on the CB with his friends. His CB handle was “MuleSkinner”.(He was stubborn as a mule). He never met a stranger. He was looked upon as being the “best Daddy in the world”.
Mr. Killian is preceded in death by brothers, Roger Allen Killian and Alvin Keith Killian.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bob and Opal; his son and son’s fiancé, Tristan Wayne Killian and Vanessa Renee Buff of Lenoir; his companion Lora Ann Pennell who lived with him for the past seventeen years; brother, Michael Lynn Killian of Hudson; sisters, Reba Jean Bean and husband Johnny, Margaret Lee Severt and husband Jerry, all of Lenoir, and Audrey Ann Klein and husband Col. Kenneth Klein of Aurora, CO. He also leaves nieces and nephews behind, Joseph Thompson, Nikki Killian, Amy Hunsucker, Tyler Killian, Jeramy Killian, Jacob Pennell, Brandon Killian, Alan Severt, and Jason Severt (to name most of them); along with a host of friends.
