Mrs. Chester was born on July 15, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late Lewis Stout and Christine Lovins Stout.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Chester, brother, George Stout and sisters, Marie Fair and Anna Greene.
Ginger was one of the kindest people one would ever meet. She had a heart for people and loved everyone. She graduated from Lenoir High School in 1954 and was a member of the First Advent Christian Church in Lenoir. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who truly enjoyed caring for her family. One of the things Ginger was always excited to do was to go to Hardees on Wednesday morning to hear the gospel music that was sang. She loved her Hardees family with all her heart. She also loved to do crossword puzzles.
Ginger was a positive upbeat person, even though she was battling cancer she never said she was dying from cancer, but rather said she was LIVING with cancer and she did continue to live her life. She was an inspiration to everyone whose life she touched.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Doug Chester and wife Jessica of Granite Falls, Rusty Chester and wife Emilee of Taylorsville, step-son, Michael Coleman of Cleveland TN, daughters, Dianne Whitt and husband William of Lenoir, Elaine Permuy and husband Bill of Boynton Beach, FL, Jimma Dotson and husband Michael of Hudson, Becky Lowrance and husband Ray of Lenoir, Brother, Mickey Stout and wife Nita of Lenoir, Sister, Betty Jo Greene of Lenoir, sister-in-law Glenda Church and husband Willard of Lenoir and a very special sister-in-law, Mavis Gragg of Lenoir who helped care for Ginger and was very close to her.
