Vivian “Cricket” Jones Norris, 67 of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Cricket was born in Washington County, VA to the late Dave Jones and Mary Murray Jones.

Mrs. Norris was a retired furniture worker and a member of Living Water Fellowship Church where she was in charge of the fellowship hall.

She is also preceded in death by a brother; Eddie Jones, a sister Mickey Presley, great grandson Dawson Uhl, two nephews Matt Jones and Danny Norris.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband John Norris of the home, a son; John Norris II and Tina of Lenoir, three daughters; Tammy Norris and Wayne Effler of Lenoir, Robin and Tim Jones of Lenoir, Susan and Micheal Mullins of Lenoir, four brothers; Billy Jones of Maryland, Butch Jones of Abington VA, Freddie Jones of Meadowview VA, and Johnny Jones of Abington VA, two sisters; Betty Ann King and Sissy Smith of VA, seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

The family of Mrs. Norris will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Norris will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Living Water Fellowship Church with the Pastor Mark Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Evans, Richie Powell, Micheal Mullins Wayne Effler, Tim Jones and Tim Hartley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Zachary Moody, Johnathan Norris, Caleb Mullins and Ryan Uhl.
