Walter Kelley Arney

Walter Kelley Arney, age 95, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at AMOREM Hospice in Hudson. Mr. Arney was born September 14, 1927 in Caldwell County to the late Elam and Lucy Price Arney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Dorothy Clippard Arney and a brother, Shirley "Shot" Wayne Arney.

Walter was a lifelong member of Littlejohn United Methodist Church and worked for both Singer and Broyhill Furniture earning a gold watch from both employers. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Walter enjoyed gardening in his spare time, and was known for sharing his harvest with the neighborhood.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Lynda Friesland and husband John of Lenoir, his two sons, Tom Arney and wife Sylvia of Lenoir, Chris Arney and wife Renae of Taylorsville, five grandchildren , seven great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held to honor Walter on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Littlejohn United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rich Irwin officiating.
