

He is survived by his loving wife Alice, and his seven children, Ed (Pat) Leavitt of Magrath, Peggy (Rod) Blackmore of Cardston, Rod (Tammy) Leavitt of Cardston, Mary Lynn (John) Duell of Lethbridge, Laureen (Warren) Toth of Cardston, Randy (Tina) Leavitt of Lethbridge and Wendy (Adam) Salmon of Lethbridge, 29 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by the following siblings: Edra (Kent-deceased) Pilling, Blaine (Lorraine), Donny (Barbara), Gerald (Susan), Bryan (Shannon), Nolan (Bev), and Frankie Leavitt.
Ardell was born on May 9th, 1929 in Cardston, Alberta the oldest child of seven to Ardath Robinson Williams and Elden H. Leavitt. He attended school in Leavitt and Hartley and made many lifelong friends. On June 22, 1948 he married his sweetheart and best friend, Mary Alice Leavitt in the Cardston Alberta Temple. He enjoyed several hobbies such as fishing, hunting, softball, riding horses, and raising cattle; however his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dad enjoyed many occupations such as heavy duty mechanic, a custodial business, chief engineer of the Blood Indian Hospital, and farming.
