Mrs. Bernice McClain

Bernice McClain, beloved wife of Jack of Raymond, passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Monday August 7, 2006 at the age of 75 years.

She is also the loving mother of Vicky McClain of Airdrie, Darlynn (Jack) Braden of Gibsons, B.C., Kevin (Susan) McClain of Fort Langley, B.C. and Shelley (Rob) Lowe of Lethbridge. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Kacie (Dwayne) Dyck, Sharlina (Barry Johnston) McClain, Nicole Lowe and Landon Lowe, and 4 great grandsons: Colton, Tyson, Gage and Cayden Dyck.

She was predeceased by her parents Casey and Ella Ralph, mother-in-law Lyle McClain and one grandson Quinton Zobell.

Bernice was born on March 11, 1931 in Raymond, Alberta. She was the eldest of 5 children. She married Jack McClain on July 22, 1948 and they were blessed with 4 children. Bernice’s house was a hub of activity with home cooked meals, fresh baking and an immaculate clean home which she took pride in. Rumor has it, the floors were always so clean one couldn’t wait for Bernice to leave so they could slide across the glistening floor in their stocking feet. Bernice chose to be a homemaker, putting her family first. She enjoyed reading, needlework, sewing and baking. She enjoyed every moment she had with all of her grandchildren. Due to Bernice’s declining health the last few years were not easy. She is now at peace. Bernice and Jack were lucky enough to have just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary a month ago. We love you, we’ll miss you and cherish all our memories of you.

Friends may meet the family prior to the service at CHRISTENSEN SALMON FUNERAL HOME, 327 – 10 Street South, Lethbridge, on Saturday, August 12, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at CHRISTENSEN SALMON FUNERAL HOME. Due to unforeseen circumstances the date has been changed from Friday, August 11th to Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond at 2:00 p.m.
