Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 pm at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland. Donald passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016,. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on December 15, 1939 to Jace and Hada (Ford) Caddell. Hada passed away during childbirth and five years later Jace married Verna Mae Williams, who became Donald’s loving mother. Donald was a lifelong resident of Hockley County. He graduated from Levelland High School in 1958. Donald married Betty Knight in 1959 at Fellowship Baptist Church of Clauene, Texas. Donald and Betty had one daughter, Donna Rena, born in 1964. Donald farmed in the Clauene community for several years and then went into Law Enforcement with the Hockley County Sheriff’s Department for 28 years. During that time, he worked as deputy and chief deputy for the department. Donald served as sheriff for Hockley County from 1996 until his retirement in 2004. Donald was a big man with a big heart who enjoyed raising cattle and doing metal work and woodwork in his shop. He was a talented artist and enjoyed photography. He loved growing flowers and tending to his yard. He is preceded in death by his parents. Donald is survived by his wife, Betty of 56 years; daughter, Donna Edwards and husband David, all of Levelland. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Levelland Nursing Home and Interim Hospice nursing staff for the loving comfort and care provided. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests dona-tions be made to The Donald Caddell Scholarship in Law Enforcement at South Plains College, 1401 College Avenue, Levelland, Texas 79336.

Betty and Donna,
I will miss that sweet man and his smile. He loved you
two so much, he would just light up when either of
you were nearby. Levelland loved Donald Caddell
and his wonderful caring heart. We will all miss him
but don't you know the angels welcomed him home.
I know Betty's mom gave him a big hug when he
arrived there. We will all see him again some day,
Praise the Lord.
Prayers are sent..
Love, Sandy Cameron along with Angel Inetha
