

Lena "Faye" Singleton Bailey was born in Ft. Worth, Texas to George and Sadie Singleton. She grew up with two brothers and three sisters. After graduating from Diamond Hill School, she and her family moved to Houston in 1943. She went on to study Spanish at the International Preparatory Institute in San Antonio in preparation for missionary work. She worked with missionaries for almost ten years in Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic and Haiti and Mexico before moving back with her family to Ft. Worth. There she met her future husband Carl Bailey. They were married in 1966. After 1976 they moved to West Texas where she continued taking college classes and earned a Spanish degree from Texas Tech University in 1982. She enjoyed working with children’s Sunday School classes, painting and quilting.
She has left to cherish her memory her husband: Carl, two children, Teri and Kreg, her stepson, Kyle and two grandchildren, Robert and Kathryn.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at George Price Funeral Chapel, Levelland with Rev. Roy Prather, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland.
