

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Maynard Miller at a funeral mass at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Levelland with Military burial following in the Pep Cemetery, Pep, Texas. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 7:00 pm at George Price Funeral Chapel, Levelland. Services are under the care of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas.
He was born on June 4, 1924 in Cyclone, Texas to Herman and Irene Dolle Miller. He graduated from Pep High School in 1942, entering military services in WWII with the US Army’s 4th Armored Division. Upon discharge, he married Viola Demel of Pep on April 10, 1947. Maynard then farmed in the eastern New Mexico and Littlefield, Texas area for many years. After moving to Texas, he worked for Getty Oil and Texaco for 20 years. In retirement, he enjoyed working with Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the VFW Post 2466 and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Viola Miller, his children: Dan Miller and his wife, Janis; Shirley Vaughan, Ken Miller,
Loretta Bryant, and Cindi Carey and her husband, John, his brothers and sister: Gene Miller, Glenn Miller and Mary Hammersley, and his grandchildren: Jennifer, Marty, Pat, Linda, Michael, Jayma, Chris, April, Chuck, Trilby, Chyla, Dylan and Megan, three great grandchildren: Emerson, Andy and Brody. Maynard was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Rueben Miller.
Maynard never met a stranger and always had a smile and kind word. He will be greatly missed by all his numerous family, friends, and neighbors.
