Agnes T. McCartney

Agnes T. McCartney of Levittown passed peacefully on Friday,January 22, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was 79.Born and raised in Broher, County Sligo, Ireland, Mrs. McCartney came to the United States at the age of 17 residing in Philadelphia for a time before moving to Levittown where she has lived for the past 44 years.She was a devoted member of Queen of the Universe parish where she was active in several organizations. She was also a member of the Middletown and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Senior Citizens.Most important to Mrs. McCartney were the times spent with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her warm and loving smile. Mrs. McCartney was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. McCartney for 54 years.She was the loving mother of Lorraine M. Takacs (James) of Newtown and Robert P. McCartney of Levittown.She was the devoted and adoring grandmother of Christopher McCartney and Danny, Billy and Caroline Takacs.She was the sister of Joseph McGuinn, Brendan McGuinn and the late Bernadette Meehan, Maureen Howley and Edward McGuinn and will be missed by numerous nieces and nephewsFamily and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd. Levittown, PA 19056 where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment is private.Memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Universe Church.
