

Alvin E. Scheidler, Sr. Alvin E. Scheidler, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Deer Meadows Nursing Home in Philadelphia. He was 90. Born on July 17, 1921, Alvin was the youngest son of the late George and Jennie Scheidler. During World War II, Alvin served with the 963rd Field Artillery Battalion where he drove an artillery truck from 1942 until the end of the war in 1946. In that time he had traveled to many countries including England, France, Belgium and Germany, and he was present at the Battle of the Bulge. In his younger days, Alvin enjoyed going fishing on his boat, "Little Dottie". Later in life he enjoyed watching the Phillies and old Lawrence Welk episodes, and taking care of his lawn. He was preceded in death by his wife and best friend Dorothy V. "Dottie" (Boerner), and his daughter Susanne D. Imhof. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Alvin E. Scheidler, Jr. and his wife Donna and two grandchildren, William Imhof, Jr. and Kimberlee Imhof, all of Levittown, and his brother Wilson K. Scheidler of Davenport, FL. Alvin also leaves behind his best furry friend, Dodger, who misses his Pop Pop very much. Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Women's Humane Society, 3839 Richlieu Rd, P.O. Box 1470, Bensalem, PA 19020, in honor of Alvin's love for animals.
