

Ambrose Russell Flanigan, Jr. of Bristol, PA, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Hospice, Meadowbrook, PA. Born In Syracuse, NY, Mr. Flanigan has been a resident of West Bristol since 1951. He graduated with degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University in 1935. During World War II, he was a civilian physicist for the US Navy in the 3rd Naval District in New York. He was employed in sales with Westinghouse prior to contracting and consulting work at Peifer Electric and Scott Electric in Trenton, NJ. He retired at the age of 77. Mr. Flanigan was the beloved husband of the late Roberta (Dennis) Flanigan. He was the loving father of Robert Russell Flanigan and his wife, Kathleen Mary of Lynnfield, MA. He is also survived by his sister, Faye Lynch of Somerton, PA, brother-in-law, Capt. James P. Randle of Frederick, MD, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eileen Lynch, Jeanne Randle and brother, Robert P. Flanigan. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, 5:00 until 8:00 pm and Monday, 8:15 until 9:15 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, at 10:00 am at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Croydon, PA. Rite of Committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
