
Anthony J. Piento, of Levittown, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 85. Mr. Piento was born in Old Forge, PA and has resided in Levittown since 1960. He was a 1942 graduate of Old Forge High School and a 1951 graduate of Penn State University. Mr. Piento served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines from 1944 until 1946. He was an Industrial Arts teacher at Carl Sandburg Middle School in the Neshaminy School District for 23 years until retiring in 1983 and prior to that taught at North Scranton Junior High. Mr. Piento was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215. He enjoyed wood working and traveling. Mr. Piento was the beloved husband of Mildred (Cianni) Piento for 60 years. He was the loving father of Maryann Piento of Langhorne, Agnes Piento of Conway, SC, Carol Piento of Levittown, Mimi Scheckler of Pipersville, Rita and her husband John Bradley of Levittown and Lisa Piento of Levittown. He was the devoted grandfather of Tara Stanley (Vincent Zerbonia), Melissa Jones, Douglas and Tony Bradley, Julie, Greg and the late Jennifer Scheckler, and Kyle and Gwen George. He was the brother of Roman Pienta of Rockville, MD and the late Stanley, Rudy and Josephine and will be sadly missed by several sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church. Rite of Committal in Washington Crossing Memorial Park will be held privately at a later date.
