Barbara Lee McDonough

Barbara L. “Barb” McDonough of Levittown, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on December 29, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Ann Riley. Barb is survived by her husband of 56 years, James J. McDonough III.

Barb was a lifelong resident of Levittown, PA, and graduated from Bishop-Egan High School in 1964. She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1966. Her career was dedicated to helping and caring for others. A special job she held was serving as a private-duty nurse for a patient at Pennswood Village. Later in her career, Barb worked at Theradex as a Critical Research Associate.

Barb lived her life for her family. Her favorite times were when she attended events to cheer on her grandchildren. There wasn’t a plant or flower she couldn’t keep alive. She will be dearly missed by the lives she touched.

Barb is survived by her husband, James (Jim), her three sons, Brian (Dianna), Kevin (Leslie), and Michael. She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan, Gavin, and Avena. Barb was predeceased by her sister, Joann Pitcherello, and her brothers, Lee and Robert. She has two surviving siblings: Susan Peterson (Mark) and Bryan (Leslie). Her in-laws include: Jack (Carol), Robert (Debbie-deceased), Dennis (Bobbi), Kevin (Demetra), Terry, Tommy, Maureen Low-Beer (Alfred), Kathleen “Kash” Spurlin (Bill), Rita, Marianne Balkovic, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At this time all service for Barbara will be private.
