

Celeste HenryCeleste (Cann) Henry, of Levittown, completed her life's journey on Earth and was returned to God on Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was 75.Born in Hazleton, PA, she moved to Fairless Hills as a child and graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1959.A few years later a chance meeting at the Ranch Room, where she worked as a waitress, she was introduced to the man who would become her "soul mate", the late Francis J. Henry. They were together until his death in 2010, raising four daughters and a menagerie of beloved pets.Though unimpressive from a worldly perspective, Celeste's life was well-lived. Neither ambitious nor flamboyant, her goal was simple: Do good, be good. Still on her refrigerator, the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson that defined her life:"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."Inconsolable at her loss are daughters, Debra Henry, Karen Alligood (Mark), Shannan Engle (Dave) and Christine Zimmerman (Robert); nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, James and Edward (Dana) Cann; and sister, Margaret Powalski (Ken).A sister, Jo-Ann Walterick, and brother, Charles Cann, preceded her in death.Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 9:00 until 10:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her funeral service will be held on Friday, at 10:00 am.
