Cliff was born on August 27, 1953, at Mercer Hospital in Trenton NJ. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1978. Cliff spent his career as a machinist with GMA, the Courier Times, and Mueller Martini, traveling around the country building and maintaining newspaper equipment. Cliff could build or fix anything with speed and precision, no google necessary.
Cliff was a friend of Bill W, and proudly celebrated 35 years sober on April 1st of this year. His home away from home was the 12 Keys Club in Bristol, PA where he gained the tools to live a fulfilling and happy life "One Day at a Time." While Cliff lived all over the country, his heart and home were always in Levittown and Morrisville Pa. He was happiest at the ball field watching Jaxson hit dingers, or at the gym watching Kennedy perfect her back handspring. When Kennedy called and invited him to her winter dance, he took it seriously and showed up in a full tux with a corsage for his girl. That's just how he was. Always present. Always available. Always ready for a good time.
Cliff was a family man. His family meant more to him than anything. He was always building memories, had lots of "Kodak Moments" and always made sure that the people around him knew they were loved. He could always find an opportunity to make a joke or pull a prank including the infamous "fork trick". Cliff is a proud member of the Elks in Bristol Borough and loved spending time and making memories down at the Wharf. The countless doctors, nurses, and support staff made sure that he was taken care of over the years, even when Cliff showed his stubborn side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeane Bright and Charles Clifford Bright Sr. "Chuck". He was also welcomed into heaven by his Thing 2, Victoria Elizabeth Diehl and his little "Cuz" Kristin Stecko, as well as many other family members and friends.
He is survived by his sister Shari Moseley, Valerie George, his brother Rick Bright and his wife Sue Bright, as well as his baby sister Lisa Stawniak and his brother from another, Tom Stawniak. Cliff leaves behind two daughters, Melanie Raquel Bright "Macy" and her dog Aspen, and Victoria Nikcole Bright and her husband Bryan Foster, as well as his godson and nephew Steven Stawniak and goddaughter Kristina L'Heureux. He had countless great friends that became family including Ginny Hancin, Arthur L'Heureux, and Tim Brown to name just a few. Cliff's most favorite people in the world called him "Pappy" or "Uncle Cliff". His grandchildren, Jaxson and Kennedy Foster, will forever carry their Pappy in their hearts. He has countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews that will miss him tremendously. Harper McClister, Carter Stawniak, and Declan "Decky Do" McClister made their Uncle Cliff light up as soon as they walked in the room. Almost as much as when his niece Samantha McClister was around and he let out his favorite quote "Hey, Girl Hey!"
He became very close with Dr. Borghei at Fox Chase and his family wants to thank him personally for taking such great care of Cliff over the years.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 5 until 8 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA. Come in your best Philadelphia Eagles gear and ready to share memories, laughs, and love, and help us celebrate the life of Cliff.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cliff's memory to the Fox Chase Cancer Center at https://www.foxchase.org/giving
