

Born in Lakewood, NJ, he was a 1962 graduate of Pemberton High School. In 1967 he graduated from Trenton State College where he achieved his degree in Math and Science.
In 1968, Don married his beloved wife, Tahoma (Perkins).
For over 42 years, Don was a Mathematics teacher at Fisher Junior High School (currently, Middle School) in Ewing, NJ. He was a Cross Country Coach from 1970-1993 and a track coach from 1970 - 1986. He was instrumental in starting a girls program for both sports.
He coached JV Girls' Basketball at Ewing High School from 1977-1983 and 1990-1995. Don became a Freshmen Girls' basketball coach, 1995-2002. Don retired from both teaching and coaching in 2009. He was presently a volunteer scout for Shelley Dearden at Ewing High School.
Mr. Barnett is the beloved husband of the late Tahoma (Perkins); loving father of Donald Barnett III (Imani), David Barnett and Elizabeth Osborne; devoted grandfather of Davionne Wilson, Kayla and Courtney Osborne; and dear brother of Barbara A. Hornsby, Raymond B. Barnett and the late Mavin Barnett Sr.
He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.
