

Donald Raymond Groff, age 70, passed away on December 24, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Langhorne, PA. He was a long time resident of Levittown, PA.
Don was born in Reading, PA, to parents, Earl and Doris Groff. He grew up in Fairless Hills, PA and graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1973 where he was on track team and was proud to have won the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. Don went on to establish a 46 year career at Sears Holding/K-Mart Warehouse. On October 14, 1978 he married the love of his life, Ellen Stasko. Together they had two daughters, Marie and Jennifer. Thirteen years ago he became a grandfather to Henry Rowland whom he cherished. He would kiss Henry's picture and pray for him every night.
Don loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, gardening, dogs, traveling, eating out, and watching sports, especially football and baseball.
Don was a strong, loving, and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was always there for anyone who needed him. When family, friends and even the dog was was in the hospital, he was there faithfully, most of the day, visiting, calling and doing whatever was needed.
Don loved to party, have fun, and live for the moment. He could be gruff and straight forward, but he was also forgiving, caring, and thoughtful. He never forgot a birthday, anniversary or holiday. Don would do whatever he could to make them special.
Don’s legacy is to live for today, love with your heart, and do whatever you can to help others.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Earl Groff and Doris Groff (nee Penn).
Don is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ellen Groff (nee Stasko); his daughters Marie Rowland (Steve) and Jennifer Gross (Christopher); his grandchild Henry Rowland; his siblings Elizabeth "Betty" Dillon; Earl “Butch” Groff (Linda), and Barry Groff (Jan); his brother-in-law Frank Demsky (Jerri); his sister-in-law JoAnne (Barney); many nieces and nephews; his pet dog Beau; and many good friends.
A visitation for Donald will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00 PM.
