
Donald H. Slack, of Levittown, died on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Attleboro Nursing Home. He was 85. Born in Moosic, PA, Mr. Slack has been a long time resident of Levittown. He was employed in sales with Keiser, Borden's Sealtest and most recently Jesse Terry for many years until retiring. Mr. Slack was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and participated in the Invasion of Normandy on "D" Day at the age of 17. He was a member of Queen of the Universe parish where he was past president of the Men's Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph the Worker Council #4215 and the St. John Neumann Assembly. He was also a cofounder of Mary's Cupboard. Mr. Slack was the beloved husband Marion T. Slack (Quinnan) for 60 years. He was the loving father of Mary Ellen Swanson and her husband Jeff, Maureen Dailey and her husband Vance, Eileen DiPento and her husband Michael, and Ann Brodrick and her husband Alan. He was the devoted grandfather of Christopher and Dawn Swanson, Carolyn McCune, Maura and Justin Dailey, Melissa and Rachel DiPento and Charles and Nicholas Adams. He will also be sadly missed by 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Carroll and Mary Tomassoni and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
