Edward Peter Hoffman

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he graduated from Bensalem High School on his 18th birthday; June 14, 1960. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted and went on to serve his country in the US Navy, being honorably discharged in 1964.

On May 18, 1968, he married the love of his life, Janice Gregory; together they built a wonderful life filled with joy, laughter, and travel. Spontaneous day trips to the Jersey Shore and Casinos were a must throughout their 55 years of marriage.

Pete was the proud father of Edward M. Hoffman, II (Pete) and his wife, Sherri. He loved being Pop to his grandson and namesake, Edward Peter Hoffman, II (Pete) and granddaughter, Michelah; and sharing stories about his life with them. He’s also survived by his “Little Sis” Gerri Justice.

Pete was an avid outdoorsman. His travels took him throughout the United States, Canada, and Alaska to both hunt and fly fish. He had a deep passion for bird hunting, always alongside his beloved dog(s), who were as much his partners as they were his companions. Fishing was another one of Pete’s joys. He appreciated sharing the love for bird hunting and fishing with his son and his friends. Pete was also passionate about rose gardening and took great pride in caring for his many rose bushes. He decorated his garden with several homemade bird houses. Building these was another of his many passions. His garden brought him peace and happiness, and he enjoyed sharing them with family, friends and neighbors. Pete was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan. Whether football, baseball, hockey or basketball, he proudly supported the teams through the ups and downs of each season.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Levittown, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, Levittown, PA, with burial immediately following at Tullytown Cemetery.
