Eleanor Frances StrausserEleanor F. (Gervasio) Strausser of Fairless Hills passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Chandler Hall in Newtown surrounded by her family. She was 85.Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, James Strausser, and her first husband, John Hackbart. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Amelia Gervasio.Eleanor was the loving mother of Jack Hackbart (Lori) of Phoenix, AZ, Janet Appleton (Wayne) of Fairless Hills, PA and Michael Hackbart (Kristine) of Bristol, PA. She was also the cherished grandmother of Kathleen, Lynnmarie and Jack Hackbart (Cyndi), Colleen Kaufmann (Dan) and Jason Appleton, and Kelsey and Kiley Hackbart. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-granddaughter this April. Eleanor is survived by her sisters, Marie Hample and Franny Gervasio, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis O'Rourke and Antoinette Gervasio.Eleanor was happiest spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to attend their sporting events, particularly bowling and softball. Her passion was reading and she will always be remembered sitting with a book and a cup of tea. She also was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. Every spring and summer Eleanor planted beautiful flowers that were admired by all.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Philadelphia.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to the Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation, P.O.
