Floss was born in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, John and Florence Mawhinney (nee Snodgrass). She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1953.
In her free time, Floss enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. This included boating on the Chesapeake Bay as well as being a member of Anchor Yacht Club in Bristol, PA. She also enjoyed camping in their RV, summer vacations in North Wildwood, reading, and word searches/crossword puzzles.
Floss and her husband, Charles, built an incredible family spanning four generations. She always put her family’s wellbeing before her own and will be missed dearly. She was selfless, fun loving, easy going, and a true testament of inner strength and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles E. Cook Jr.; children Stephen Cook and Sharon Lynn; son-in-law Patrick Bradley; her parents; brother Jack Mawhinney; brothers-in-law Ray Donahue and Allen Cook; and sister-in-law Mary Lou Cook.
Survived by her sisters Patricia Emberger and Julia Donahue; sister-in-law Eileen Mawhinney; brother-in-law Robert Cook; children: Robert Cook (Pamela) and Debra Bradley; son-in-law Michael Lynn; daughter in-law Danette Cook; grandchildren: John Lynn (Amber), Michelle Beier (Gavin), Ashley Dearstine (Trevor), Meghan Cook, Jennifer Meriano (Joseph), Jacqui Lutz (Nick), Charles Bradley, Stephen Cook (Hannah), Rachael Cook, Madalyn Cook (Rocco), Ryan Cook (Megan), Rebecca Bradley (Curt Bound), Quinton Cook (Katie), Reid Cook, and Collin Cook; great-grandchildren Trevor, Tyler, and Tilly Ann Dearstine, Joseph and Emma Meriano, Rocco and Bells Zolynski, Gavin and Brayden Beier, Gage, Indiana, and Ruby Lutz, Charles and Elise Lynn, Oliver Cook, and Juliet Cook; and many others who became family.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 225 Bellevue Ave, Penndel, PA 19047, followed by a funeral mass, and burial at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA 19047.
